Treatment of Vaginal Trichomoniasis and Candidiasis with TC 109 ( Atrican )

Abstract

|
Atrican(TC 109) therapy was tried on two group of patients-36 patients with trichomonas vaginitis and 22 patients with fungal vaginitis, which were confirmed by direct smear specimen examination-by means of vaginal route as well as oral route. Atrican 100mg vaginal suppository was inserted daily at bed time for ten days and one 100mg oral tablet t. I. d. at meal for three consecutive days were also given from the first day of vaginal treatment. The husbands were also treated with oral tablets. The results obtained by this clinical study can be summarized as follows: 1. In trchomoniasis, the clinical and parasitological cure rates on ten days and post-period visit were 97.2% and 91.7% each. 2. In candidiasis, the cure rates on the same follow-up visits were 95.5% and 86.4% each.
